The rather poor state of the building (even its identification as a fountain is tentative) has necessarily led to a rather provisionary representation, in accordance with its most exhaustive study [Mc Camp II, J., The Water Supply of Ancient Athens from 3000 to 86 BC, Dissertation Princeton University (Ann Arbor Microfilms 1978), pp. 116-130 and 171-173]. We are certain, though, of its L-shape and that there was an internal colonnade defining two spaces, a propylon and a cistern. Given that the building was identified as a fountain, it is thought that its flanks were barred by walls, of which no trace remains. As the building was constructed in c.350 BC, its period of use is solely the Hellenistic, thus only one phase is represented: the addition of the late 4^th cent. BC in the SW is not represented, while the similar structure in the SE is.
